The case is reported by an officer of the rank or above the rank of Senior Scientific Officer Gr. II with the assistance of a team of experienced Senior Scientific Assistant, Scientific Assistant/Laboratory Assistant and Laboratory Attendant. Before finalizing and forwarding the case report to the forwarding authority, the report is being duly recommended by the Head of Division and the approval of Principal Scientific Officer (Admn.) is sought, prior to the final approval of Director, CFSL. The reporting officer has to depose before the court as and when required by the Hon’ble courts.
The reporting officer is the custodian of the crime exhibits as well as the case file, till the case is reported and exhibits are handed over to the forwarding authority. Finally, the case file is sent to case section, which maintains the entire records of cases received, reported and closed for the purpose of records.
The universal methods of analysis is adopted as is being adopted by the other Central or State Forensic Science Laboratories all over India.
