Dear colleagues and friends,
         It is an honour to be appointed as the Director, Central Bureau of Investigation. Thank you very much for your messages of congratulations. I am grateful to God, the Government and well wishers like you for this appointment. I hope I am able to come up to your expectations.
         I am eagerly looking forward to work with you for improving the image, credibility and professionalism of CBI over the next two years. Please feel free to communicate on any personal or professional issue that needs my attention.
Based on the replies sent by you to my e-mail regarding "Ideas, Initiatives and Innovation", the attached 10 points have been shortlisted for implementation by December, 2008. I am sure all of you will take personal interest to ensure 100% compliance in the given time frame. The remaining ideas/suggestions have been kept on record and are under active consideration.
Looking forward to action taken reports and more ideas from you for implementation during 2009.

Ideas, Initiatives and Innovations
The following ten suggestions received from CBI officers have been selected for implementation by 31.12.2008:-

  1. Achievements of targets under all three heads – Zone wise review shall be carried out every month.

  2. Monitoring of one year old cases – Time frame of one year for completion of investigation to be adhered to.

  3. Internal vigilance and RDA norms – Disposal of RDA minor penalty proceedings within 3 months & Disposal of RDA major penalty proceedings within 6 months – No RDA proceedings should remain pending beyond the above time frame as on 31.12.2008.

  4. Rationalization / re-distribution of work among JDs, DIGs, Sr.SP, SsP and ASsP to ensure effective decision making by reducing number of levels to Branch, Zone and Division only.

  5. Inspections of all CBI Branches by 31.12.2008 as per Policy Division Circular No.10 of 2007.

  6. Adoption of Transfer Policy and implementation thereof by 31.12.2008.

  7. Health and welfare – Medical examination of all CBI officials and members of their families especially those above 45 years of age. Carrying out of welfare activities in all CBI residential colonies.

  8. Strengthening Directorate of Prosecution.

  9. Special drives – Zone wise.

  10. Centre for Training in Cyber and Hi-Tech Crime Investigation in CBI Academy.
